Rene Lalique’s work in boxes began with his very rare jewelry boxes. He next used box designs in the Cire Perdue technique which was followed by the some of his earliest work in glass. In the Cataloge Raissone by Felix Marchliac the first commercial glass boxes was Cataloge Raissone created in 1910 followed by the Coq box number 2 also in 1910. The designs used by Rene Lalique are generally unique to the boxes, of which approximately 100 were produced.
